What the training has actually produced

Claims about AI are cheap. Below is the record: the programmes we designed, the institutions that backed them, the number of Bermudians who finished, and what participants said in their own words.

  • 1,000+

Business employees trained in our workshops, in custom team sessions and open enrolment

  • 150+

Certificates in AI earned on the five-week course at Bermuda College

  • 250+

Administrative professionals trained on the AI for Admin Professionals day

  • 2021

Training teams and executives on island since before the generative AI wave

Case study · Bermuda College

A national AI curriculum, written for one island

Not a licensed course from overseas. A curriculum built from scratch around the industries Bermuda actually runs on.

The institute spearheaded Foundations in Artificial Intelligence in partnership with Bermuda College, supported by the Bermuda Government's grant programme. We contributed the curriculum design; the College contributed reach, accreditation and delivery; the Government removed the cost of entry.

The programme runs for fifteen hours of in-person coursework across five weekly evening sessions, with project work in between — deliberately scheduled after work so that people in full-time jobs could attend. It covers core AI concepts, generative AI tools, prompt engineering, AI-powered marketing, finance and analytics, real-world application and ethics.

Thirty-four Bermudians completed the inaugural cohort in January 2025. More than 150 have now earned a Certificate in AI on the same course, including two cohorts of Bermuda College’s own staff. Grant funding removed the participation barrier, and computers were provided to participants who needed one, so access was not decided by whether someone owned a laptop. The programme now runs monthly, alongside an advanced course in prompt engineering for industry applications and a flexible online option.

The AI technology can assist us in efficiently formulating our strategic goals, enhancing operational competences and improving decision-making processes.

How it developed

From a room in Hamilton to a national programme

  1. 2021

The institute opens, before the wave

Bermuda Clarity Institute is founded in Hamilton and begins training teams and executives — more than a year before ChatGPT reached the mainstream. The groundwork was already laid when it did.

  2. 2023

Generative AI arrives, and demand follows

Workshops fill from government, tourism, insurance, the professions and owner-managed business. The curriculum widens from a single tool to the major models side by side.

  3. 2024

The gaps around the training become obvious

It becomes clear that capability alone leaves data and governance exposed, so the AI audit and fractional AI services are introduced to run in parallel with staff training.

  4. 2025

The Certificate in AI launches with Bermuda College

The certificate route opens with Bermuda Government grant support and computers provided to those who need them. Thirty-four Bermudians graduate from the inaugural cohort, including two cohorts of the College's own staff soon after.

  5. Now

    Past a thousand people trained

More than 1,000 business employees through the workshops, more than 150 Certificates in AI awarded, and more than 250 administrative professionals trained on the AI for Admin Professionals day. Custom sessions run in client boardrooms across the island; open enrolment and the certificate run at Bermuda College.

What changes afterwards

Three things participants consistently report

Drawn from what attendees tell us in the room and afterwards. The pattern is remarkably consistent across industries.

Time to value, measured in hours

People leave the same session having already automated or accelerated a real task. Nobody waits for a rollout, a licence negotiation or a pilot committee.

Fear replaced with judgement

Attendees arrive worried about their jobs and leave able to say what AI is good at, where it fails, and which parts of their own role are genuinely exposed.

A shared language across the org

When a whole team attends together, decisions stop stalling on vocabulary. Finance, HR and operations start describing the same use case the same way.

In their words

Thirty-five people have put it better than we can

Collected from post-workshop surveys and written feedback, published unedited and attributed. The full set is filterable by what people took away and by the seat they were sitting in.

This was a fantastic, action-packed training and learning session full of ‘wow’ and ‘no way’ moments! … my colleagues, who also attended the workshop, and I have already implemented many of the tools taught in the workshop with great outcomes.

Sandy De Silva

The Family Centre

Absolutely amazing event with the best time to value of anything I have attended probably in my career. I really appreciated the extensive and relevant quality of the content.

Meaghan Rose

Chief Executive, Rocksbox

The workshop was highly beneficial and applicable. Ideas were forming in the parking lot immediately after!
